In this tour, we will cover 3 key destinations in Northern Tanzania Tarangire National Park (1 night), Ngorongoro Conservation Area (1 night), and Lake Manyara National Park (1 night). The tour starts and ends in Arusha, offering an exciting journey through Tanzania’s diverse landscapes and wildlife.
Early in the morning drive to Tarangire national park for a half day game drive. You will carry with you a pick nick lunch been provided by the office. In the evening around 3pm you will exist the park and head to your Lodge in Karatu for the overnight.In tarangire you will be able to encounter various animals. This park is home to one of the largeset elephant populations in Africa with several herds of up to 300 members per herd.
In addition, there are large numbers of impalas, elands, buffaloes, giraffes, Bohor reedbuck, Coke’s hartebeest, Thompson’s gazelle, the greater and lesser kudu and on rare occasions, the unusual gerenuk and fringe –eared Oryx are also seen. You will obviously see big numbers of elephants gather here as well as the wildebeests and zebras. Among the other common animals in the Tarangire are the leopards, lions, hyenas, and cheetah that seem to be popular within the southern open areas. The birds within the Tarangire are also quite many, there are over 545 species that have been identified here. The stunning yellow collared lovebirds and the shy starlings are in plenty here in addition to other species.
Very earl after the breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a full day game drive in the crater. Picknick lunch inside the crater near a hippo pool. Continue with the game drive until 4pm and start heading back to the lodge in karatu for the overnight.Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which spans across vast expanses of highland plains, savanna woodlands and forests
. Established in 1959 as a multiple land use area, with wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing, it includes the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera. The property has global importance for biodiversity conservation due to the presence of globally threatened species, the density of wildlife inhabiting the area, and the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra, gazelles and other animals into the northern plains.
Today you will drive towards lake manyara national park for a half-day for another spectacular game view. Pick lunch under the view of the great East African rift valley. Continue with the game drive after the lunch. At 3pm you will exit the park and start heading back to Arusha for the overnight at your hotel.On the floor of the Great Rift Valley,lies Lake Manyara National Park.
The rift valley escarpment wall give the Park a spectacular view. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, the Park, with its underground water forest support many lives especially the primates. Hot water springs is one of the rare geological feature that give visitors to this area an opportunity to explore. The springs are 70 degrees warm enough to boil an egg!. For birdwatchers ,the Park is a paradise with more than 350 species of birds identified.
